It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the unexpected and sudden death of Onnie Lenora Duvall, the dearly beloved sister of Gilliam (Roy) Duvall and Teresa Inez Duvall-Tye, on March 12, 2026 at her home in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Born on March 24, 1957, Onnie attended Walnut Hills High School and graduated with bachelor’s degrees from Capitol University and the University of Cincinnati. She went on to a long career as a credentialed Medical Tech-nologist that spanned more than 30 years with The Health Alliance, Quest Diagnostics, The University of Cincinnati Medical Center and its associated Barrett Center and Ridgeway Lab.
She was known for her quiet professionalism, dedication to healthcare, uncompromising standards, boundless gener-osity, and extraordinary love and devotion to friends and family. Onnie was an expert knitted-material artist and made hundreds of items for homeless shelters, local charity fund-raisers, her family and friends. A life-long learner, she loved reading, music, journaling and spending time with her nieces. She took great pride in her community and often served as a Polling Station Monitor during state and local elections.
Onnie was preceded in death by: her father, Horace Elmer Duvall and her mother, Inez (nee Garnett) Duvall. In addition to her brother and sister, she is survived by: her aunt, Linda (nee Garnett) Clayborn; uncle-in-law, Eddie Clayborn; brother-in-law, Alvin L. Tye, Sr.; sister-in-law, Weijia Duvall; childhood friend, Mary Drummonds; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
