Pastor Emeritus Kenneth Alexander Boyne attended Hatfield Elementary School. He was educated in the field of carpentry. He is a native of Jamaica West Indies, born in Mandeville, Manchester. He migrated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1967, He was married to Phyllis Boyne in 1968 and had one daughter Meredith Boyne from their union and two sons Hervin and Colbert Boyne from his first marriage to Pamela Mitchell. He was a father, grandfather, teacher, Pastor, marriage officer and church worker.
His time was devoted to the Church ministry. Pastor Kenneth Boyne was the establishmentarian of Straight Gate Apostolic Church in 1984. He served diligently until death. His occupation was a licensed Carpenter, and he took great pride in his work, he was exceptionally neat, he was a true jack of all trades. One of his passions was singing for the Lord, he was known for his harmony bari-tone voice. You would catch him rejoicing and lifting praises to God. He would sometimes cry when the joy of the Lord reaches his heart. He had a compassionate heart, very kind, slow to anger, forgiving and he touched count-less lives with his love and wisdom, he was slow to speak, and he loved to talk about the good ole days. One of his favorite passages of scripture he would often preach was 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and I will heal their land.” He was a preaching machine and loved the word of God.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his ex-wife, Phyllis Boyne; his sister, Perdeth McNeil (Commodore McNeil); his daughter, Meredith Boyne; his sons, Hervin Boyne and Colbert Boyne; his nephews, Everton Scott and Andrew McNeil; his niece, Tracy Bryant; his grandson, Courtney Wells III; great-grandchildren, Cameron Wells, Camiya Fields, Laiyah Wells and Carter Wells; his granddaughter, Ryan Watson; great-grandchildren, Dominic Watson, Devion Bracey, Da’miya Watson and Dakota Watson; and a host of relativies, close friends and Church Family.
