Patricia Hunter

THE OBITUARY

Patricia (Trisha) C. Hunter was born on April 20, 1958, in Middletown, Ohio to Lenon Hunter, Sr. and Viola (Arnold) Hunter.  She departed this life on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at The James OSU Medical Center Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.  

Trisha attended Middletown Public Schools and was a proud graduate of Middletown High School Class of 1976.  She received a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Northwood University-Texas, and enlisted in the Navy in 1981 serving with dedication until her discharge in 1993.  During her military service she received the Second Good Conduct, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit  Commendation, Letter of Commendation (3), Gold Wreath Award (14), and Sharpshooter .45 Pistol Shot Medal.  In January 1999, she worked at Miami University – Middletown campus as a Program Assistant, Facilities until her retirement in June 2020.  Patricia participated in several ministries at Solid Rock Church and recently served as a faithful usher.  

Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Lenon Hunter, Sr.; her infant sister, Barbara Lynn Hunter; her paternal grandparents Melvin and Lola Mae (Kinney) Hunter; and her maternal grandparents Slone and Dora (Thurmond) Arnold.  

Patricia leaves to cherish in her memory, two loving sons, Dr. Justyn D. Smith and Jamaal D. (Konnie) Hunter, her precious grandchildren, Naomi, Jamaal, Jr., ShiQuan, Avah, and Londyn; her beloved Mother, Viola Hunter; two brothers, Denny (Candace) Hunter and Lenon “Chip” (Anita) Hunter, Jr.; two sisters, Chris (Bill) Edwards, and Prophetess Marsha Mac; her Uncle James (Sarah) Hunter, Aunt’s Evelyn Turner and Anna Hunter; nephews, nieces, sister/cousin Rochelle Shields, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.
