Paul E. Jones, Sr.

Paul Edward Jones, Sr., son of the late David Mack and Floretta Pettway, was born on October 2, 1949 in Camden, AL. As a child, Paul moved with his family to Cincinnati, Ohio.

He enlisted into the United States Marines and had the honor of serving our country. He received an Honorable Discharge.

Paul married Donna Carr on December 4, 1970. Paul’s faith was instilled at a young age and he continued his journey in his everyday life. In 1987, he was ordained as a Pastor at New St. Paul Baptist Church. His pre-ordination teaching was entitled, “The Last 7 Words of Jesus”.

In 2016, he retired from Ford Motor Com-pany, where he dedicated over 45 years to being promoted from Assembler to Chief Operations Engineer. He was known for his great work ethic with each opportunity to grow. The most exemplary was designing and building his own personal computer. He connected with all people via his faith. He never met a stranger.

After retirement, he remained active in his church and community and could often be found visiting with his brother, Richard. Paul served as visiting pastor for over 15 years at West Cincinnati Presbyterian.

“Rev”, as he was affectionately known, was an inviting and easygoing man with a warm, crafty sense of humor. His journey was marked by love, compassion and his unwavering faith in God. He took an active and important role in the lives of countless people around him, including his greatest joys...his great-grandchildren. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends and many lives he touched. We ask that you remember him for the way he lived — in quiet strength and as a humble servant — deep-rooted in Christ and an unwavering commitment to be the hands and feet of Jesus. May his memory be a blessing and may we carry forth his legacy of humility and compassion, in all that we do.

On February 25, 2025, Paul was called to his eternal home. He was surrounded with the love of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his brothers, Eddie and Climmie Jones; his in-laws, William and Sylvia Carr and brother-in-law, Greg Carr.

Paul is survived by: his loving wife, Donna of 54 years; his children, Sylvia (Trenton and Bryson), Paul Jr. (TaShyra, Paul and Derrick), Goldie (Alexis, Tyler and Asher), Deana (Ashley, Nazar Jr. and Shaq), Quantez and Brittney (Madison, Aurb and Maison); his brothers, Richard and Carl; his sisters, Marie Revels (Doug) and Hattie Mack of Mobile, AL; and sister-in-law, Linda Carr. His memory lives on with 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who adored him dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
