Peggy Laura Boone Obituary

It is with profound love and cherished memories that we celebrate the life and legacy of Peggy Laura Griffiths Boone, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, entrepreneur, and treasured friend.

Peggy was born on November 10, 1954, in Porus, Manchester, Jamaica, West Indies, to the late and loving Mary and William Griffiths. She was blessed to be part of a close-knit and loving family of eleven sisters, whose bond remained an important part of her life. Peggy was preceded in death by her sisters, Lydia, Ethel, Pearl and Daphne. She leaves behind her beloved sisters, Girlie, Joyce, Madge and Petal, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Our Peggy attended Broadleaf All-Age School; next, she attended the West Indies College in Mandeville, Manchester, where she excelled in her studies. Later became a teacher at St. Paul Catholic School in Williamsfield. Education was always paramount in her life.

To know Peggy was to love and respect her. She was a strong, determined, and generous woman whose ambition, perseverance, and drive defined her remarkable life. She built a profitable career in banking before transitioning into the beauty industry. There, she became a Regional Manager for Regis Hairstylists, perfecting her skills. Her talent, dedication, and success allowed her to travel and experience the world.

Peggy pursued her dreams and founded Hair Today, proudly owning and leading it as Chief Executive Officer. She cherished her coworkers, whom she considered family. Through hard work, courage, and perseverance, Peggy built a successful business and lasting legacy.

Above all of her professional accomplishments, Peggy was a devoted and hardworking mother. Her daughters, Shedavia and Shanika Boone, were the most cherished part of her life and a source of immense love and joy. She poured her strength, wisdom, and devotion into her family and made sure they had all the very best life had to offer. Building and leaving them a legacy was always her primary goal. She succumbed to her health struggles, leaving them with blessings, memories, and lessons that will remain with them always.

Peggy was blessed to share many beautiful years with her beloved husband, Michael McKinley Boone, a kind, handsome, and jovial man. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and cherished memories. Michael preceded Peggy in death, but the love they shared and the life they built together remain an enduring and treasured part of her legacy.

She lived a life marked by love, determination, elegance, ambition, and resilience. She was a woman who dreamed boldly, worked tirelessly, and made her presence known. Her journey from Porus, Manchester, Jamaica, to becoming a respected wife, mother, businesswoman and successful entrepreneur is a beau-tiful reflection of her courage and unwavering spirit.

Though Peggy’s earthly journey has ended, her legacy lives on through her two beloved daughters, grandchildren, TJ, Jahsyiah, Kavon, Erynne and Ezekiel; her sisters, family, friends, col-leagues, and all whose lives she touched.
