Rasheed Oscar Leon Mills
“FOREVER16”
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rasheed Oscar Leon Mills, who left us far too soon at the age of 16.
Rasheed was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, the beloved son of Racheal Mills and Justin Crews. He was a proud brother to 8 sisters and 7 brothers. He is survived by his grandmothers Robin Mills and Robin Crews, and great-grandmothers Carolyn Middleton and LaTonya Hargrave. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Ralph Mills and his sister Promise Crews.
Rasheed shared an unbreakable bond with his favorite cousins, DaMiyah Hill and KaNiyah Caldwell, and was surrounded by a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family who cherished him deeply.
His laughter, vibrant energy, and kind spirit brought joy to everyone around him. He had a deep love for music and dancing, and could always be counted on to brighten any room. Rasheed’s personality was magnetic — his teachers, classmates, and friends adored him for the genuine love and happiness he shared.
In 2016, Rasheed was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and became a patient at Cincinnati Children’s Diabetes Center. This challenge did not dim his light — instead, it ignited a fire within him to serve others. By 2024, he had become a Leader in Training at the clinic, planning to one day be a camp counselor for children with diabetes.
A sophomore at Taft High School, Rasheed had dreams of joining the track team and pursuing even greater heights. He lived with intention, heart, and courage.
Rasheed will forever be remembered as a ray of sunshine — bringing warmth, compassion, and joy into the lives of so many.
