Rekale Princetta Lawrence Brown

Rekale (Rikki) Lawrence Brown was born June 22, 1968 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the union of the late Rosa and Ronald Lawrence. She was welcomed into Heaven on June 18, 2026, where she was reunited with her son, Stiles Alexander Curtis Brown; her Great-Grandparents, Grand Parents; Uncles and Aunties who preceded her in death.

Rekale consider her aunties, Jessie and Pat, to be mother figures and surrogate mothers throughout her life.

Rekale attended Walnut Hills High School. After graduating, she joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served at the USMC Recruit Depot Parris Island, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina, and during Operation Desert Storm. She embraced the Marine Corps values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment throughout her life.

After her military service, Rekale relocated to Randallstown, Maryland, where she attended the University of Maryland and completed 3 years of undergraduate coursework, majoring in Business Management. Throughout her career, she held several professional positions, including Manager and Executive Administrative Assistant with ICON Development Solutions, LLC; Executive Assistant with PPD Development, LP; Facilities Coordinator with SAP Public Sector and Education, Inc.; and store manager with Blockbuster Video.

Rekale enjoyed bowling, shopping, watching fashion shows, watching cooking programs, and preparing her favorite dishes. During her quiet moments, she loved reading and writing poetry. Rekale was truly her father's daughter and patterned herself after him in so many ways. She deeply loved her father and was proud to be a daddy's girl.

One of Rekale's greatest desires was granted by God. After spending time in the hospital and a nursing facility, she was able to return home to Cincinnati to be surrounded by family. During the last years of her life, she never stopped talking about her children, following their lives through social media and staying connected with friends and loved ones in Maryland.

Rekale would often tell her Aunt Bev, "I believe in God, and I believe He can reunite me with my children and restore my family." Rekale never gave up her hope or her mother's desire to be reunited with her children.

Rekale is survived by her husband Sheldon Brown; her daughters, Roche West, and Shekale Brown; her son Xavier Brown; her grandson; her brothers, Ronald Lawrence, and Michael Taylor; her sister Ronnell Lawrence; four Aunts, Roberta Johnson, Shirley Lawrence, Beverly Howard, and Linda Sinquefield -Spring; her Uncle Alvin Thomas; her dedicated friend Denna Harris; and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends that she loved dearly.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched. Rikki and her father Ronald shared a favorite scripture, Ecclesiastes 3:1: "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven." They also shared a love for the song Dance with My Father Again.

Rekale can now Rest in Peace, for her struggles are over.
