Renee Brewster was born on June 9, 1965, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Gabriel Crenshaw and Gracie Hunt Crenshaw. From an early age, she demonstrated a love for learning and a quiet determination to excel. She graduated with honors from Mount Healthy High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Her academic excellence earned her a full scholarship to Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
Renee built an accomplished career spanning more than 35 years in quality management. She dedicated 34 years to L'Oréal USA, where she advanced to Senior Quality Manager over the Microbiology and Chemistry Laboratories before serving as Regional Quality Manager at Dubois Chemicals. She was respected for her intelligence, professionalism, and commitment to excellence, mentoring countless employees throughout her career.
Above all, Renee loved the Lord. She accepted Christ as a teenager and faithfully served Greater Emanuel Apostolic Temple for more than 40 years through music, leadership, and ministry. Blessed with the gift of music and song, she sang alongside her two brothers throughout her childhood, blessing congregations and community events under the guidance of their mother. She remained a faithful servant at Greater Emanuel until her health began to decline.
Renee was a devoted wife to Alfred Brewster for nearly 36 years and a loving mother to her treasured daughter, Ashley. She found great joy in spending time with family and friends, hosting gatherings, traveling, shopping, and creating lasting memories with those she loved. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, compassionate heart, generous spirit, and the genuine love she showed to everyone she encountered.
On Sunday, July 5, 2026, Renee entered into the presence of the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Alfred Brewster; her treasured daughter, Ashley Arthur (Kessashun); her brothers, Gabriel Crenshaw and Ronald (Teresa) Crenshaw; her sisters, Gana Crenshaw and Enaka Crenshaw; and a host of family members and dear friends. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
