Robert Louis King, Sr. (79) departed this beautiful life on the morning of September 8th, 2024. Robert was born on April 25th, 1945 in Greenwood, Mississippi to the late Alberta and Willie Jackson.
Robert grew up as an only child, however, he was continuously surrounded by his supportive and nurturing family. He graduated from Central High School located in Cincinnati. After high school, Robert enlisted in The United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country in The Vietnam War.
On June 26th, 1971, Robert married his loving wife, Floria Lee King. Robert and Floria gave life to four magnificent children: Julita Makeba, Robert Jr. (Emily), Sacara and Brittany.
Growing up, Robert spent a great deal of time at church where his faith remained strong and powerful. He was an Elder, The Chairman of the Board United Christian Church, a member of the Men’s Group, etc. Robert was a proud member of the Great Ensemble Choir at United Christian Church.
Robert was a dedicated fan of the Cincinnati Bengals. Although they have had their rough seasons, he stayed loyal to them. He also was a passionate admirer of the Temptations. He knew every song and dance move that they did. At one time, Robert was actually in a group himself called The Shades of Soul.
Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife, Floria King and parents, Alberta and Willie Jackson.
Robert is survived by: his grandchildren, Madison (Blake), Payton, Robert Mackenzie, Corinne, Ryan and Gabriel; his great-grand-children, Roman, Nolan, Sevynn and Maleek; his best friend, Howard Julian Short; cousin, Eddie Mae (Blondie); and a host of family and friends.
