On May 23, 2023 the world changed for Robert Smith, III’s family and friends. Bobby, left his earthly body surrounded by his devoted wife, parents, and other loved ones. Bobby was a special gift from God and lived his life like the special blessing he was created to be.
Bobby was the firstborn child of Robert Smith, Jr. and Gayle Walker Smith. He was born in the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati on December 3, 1970. Even as a young boy, Bobby enchanted those around him with his vivid humor, gregarious laugh, and ability to bring calm to any situation. Bobby embodied what it meant to be a faithful husband, consummate big brother, devoted father, hilarious friend, considerate son, loving relative, perpetual believer and fierce fighter. Not even cancer could conquer his personality. He was larger than life to us.
Bobby loved to eat, workout, be with his family and friends as much as he loved driving. He was a human GPS and could give vivid directions to literally anywhere. Bobby was always full of life whether he was in school, the Marine Corps, at work or traveling with his beloved wife of more than 20 years, Shree Kinard Smith.
Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Gayle Walker Smith; brother, Antonio Maurice Smith; grandmother, Ozella Smith; grandfather, Robert Smith, Sr., uncle, Willie Lee “Jimbo” Smith and countless others. He leaves to celebrate his life: his loving wife, Mrs. Shree Kinard Smith; three children—Dashon Smith, Taionna Smith and Kochandra Bailey; one grandson, Kendric Garnell Ivory, Jr.; parents, Robert Smith, Jr., Wanda Taylor-Smith, Billy Kinard and Evelyn Kinard; one brother, Marcus (Tina) Smith; three sisters, Tamara (Derrick) Cumberlander, Rhonda (Harold) Boyd and Lawren (Sam) Nunn; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
