Robert Taylor, also known as “Rob” was born on September 21, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Robert was born to the union of James Taylor, Sr. and Helen Gray (Taylor). He was the third oldest of 11 children from this union.
Robert attended Washburn Elementary School and Porter Junior High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a child, Robert enjoyed playing basketball, baseball and jumping fences. At the age of 12, Robert expressed an interest in being an auto-mechanic while in Junior High School. It was his father who groomed his love for the profession. Robert attended Robert A. Taft High School and graduated in 1977. Robert was awarded a full football scholarship, however due to the untimely passing of his mother, he decided to forfeit his scholarship to raise his siblings on his own. To support his siblings, Robert continued to work as an automobile technician in the family business. In 1976, Robert began a family of his own. On May 22, 1978, Robert reconnected with his childhood sweetheart, Karen Johnson (Taylor) and formed a wonderful union. In 1981, he began working for Queen City Barrel Co., where he developed a love for carpentry and began manufacturing tables and chairs from old, reused barrels.
In 1990, Robert joined Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church and developed his love for the LORD. He was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Johnnie L. Johnson. Robert joined the choir and enjoyed singing every Sunday morning. Robert also enjoyed serving and preparing meals with the Pastor’s Aide Committee on Sundays as well. Robert continued to show his love for Christ by ministering to anyone he would come in contact with. Robert served as a Deacon at Bethlehem Temple. In June 2007, Robert became a member of Hope for You Family Life and Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop Larry Dempsey. He was appointed to the Board of Deacons and in March 2020, Robert was ordained as a Deacon at Hope for You Family Life and Worship Center.
