Robert Woodard

Robert Woodard was born in Jackson, Georgia, on July 7, 1930, to Johnnie and Hattie Woodard. He was born into a loving and nurturing family of six brothers, Posey, Charlie, James, Roosevelt, Horace, Leroy, and a sister, Hattie. Robert received his wings peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

He was married to his loving wife, Annie Rebecca Goodman on September 17, 1949, until her death on Saturday, March 21, 1987. Through this union, five children were born: Sarah Christine Woodard, Robert Morrell Woodard, Jerry Woodard, Warren Woodard and Norman Woodard.

Robert and his family moved to Cincinnati in 1953. Robert later joined St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church in the mid-1960’s under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Tecumseh X. Graham. At St. Mark, he served as an usher, steward, custodian, member of the Men’s Choir, and would assist any ministry in need. Robert was a man of God, and he truly loved his St. Mark’s Family. He also enjoyed all sports; his favorite was baseball.

He retired from Schulman and Beamer’s Building Supply Company on Camargo Road for many years as a truck driver. He also worked as a custodian at Coldstream Country Club on Asbury Road. He truly took excellent care of his wife and children.

God blessed Robert with a loving person, Juanita Higgins Graves. They were married on January 5, 1996. He was also blessed with four step-children: Michelle Graves, Michael Graves (Kim), Donna Godfrey (Michael) and Donald Graves (Shelley).

He was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings; his first wife, Annie Rebecca Woodard; and his sons, Robert Morrell Woodard and Jerry Woodard.

In loving memory, Robert leaves: his wife, Juanita Graves Woodard; his loving brother, Roosevelt Woodard; loving daughter, Sarah Christine McKee (Curtis); loving sons, Warren Woodard (Kim) and Norman Woodard (Rashun); 13 loving grandchildren and numerous loving great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, friends, cousins, his loving step-children, Michelle Graves, Michael Graves, Dee Godfrey and Donald Graves, numerous step-grand-children, great-grandchildren, and his loving St. Mark Family. He also leaves loving and caring neighbors.
