Obituary

Roberta A. Carter was the eldest of three children born in Cincinnati, OH on March 30, 1942, to the union of Lee Davis and Essie Davis. She departed this life on March 27, 2022, to be with our Lord.

Roberta tackled life’s twist and turns with strength, confidence, vigor and tenacity like a boss! One of her favorite sayings was “live each day as if it were your last.”

She also went by the name “Bertie” to close friends and family. Other names she went by were Mom, Nana, Aunt Bertie and “the Bird” by her late husband, Owen L. Carter, Jr.

Roberta was a very loving and devoted mother and dedicated to her family. Roberta and her husband raised their children with strong faith, love, guidance and lead by example. Their belief in education and a strong work ethic was always known by her family and friends.

Roberta was a proud and treasured member of The Drifters, Inc., Cincinnati Chapter since 1996, a member of Les Birdies Golf Club, Inc. and the Fun Day Nighters.

Professionally, Roberta was a Registered Investment Advisor Representative through LPL Financial and Registered in Cincin-nati, OH. As a Consultant and Certified Estate Planner, she held a Series 7 and 63 licenses through LPL Financial. She received a certificate for Excellence in Financial Education from the Success-ful Money Management Seminars she instructed at Xavier University and was appointed chairperson of the First Community Reinvestment Act in Cincinnati. She was educated at the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University and the New York Institute of Finance.

Roberta was also a member of the Financial Planning Associa-tion, Women in Insurance and Investments Planning Association, and the National Speakers Bureau. She progressively educated her clients on the principles of investing. This process cultivated a long-term relationship and retirement plan with her clients.

As a dedicated Financial Educator for several decades, Roberta completed an extensive career at the Merrill Lynch Capital Markets (Institutional Division). She was appointed by the Board of Governors of National Association of Securities Dealers to local FINRA quotations committee to monitor local company stock and report it to newspapers.

Roberta was in business for herself for over 20 years and was currently serving on the board of the Hamilton County Hospital Commission.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen; and her parents, Lee and Essie Davis.

Her wonderful legacy of love, life and the Lord will forever be cherished by her daughter, Kimberly Carter and son, Gregory (Beverly) Carter; her grandson, Kyle Carter; her sisters, Bernice Davis and Helen Davis; nephew, Kofi Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
