RONALD ALLEN CARPENTER, SR. was born on March 12, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Mollie Mae Carpenter and Lionel Charles Carpenter.
Ronald “Big Ron” grew up in the Laurel Homes; he was a good kid, loved to play sports and his favorite was Football. He attended Hughes High School and attended Central State University for a short spell and landed an opportunity to briefly play with the Washington Redskins. He married and to this union two children were born: Ronald A. Carpenter, Jr. and Rhonda Carpenter. Later on in his life, he fathered two additional children: Andre’ Carpenter and Desmond “Derek” Carpenter and became stepfather to Devan Rogers.
Ron was a good spirited person, always being funny - the class clown, just being a happy go lucky person. He was a jokester. Pranks were his favorite thing to do to anybody he could get one over on. Besides that, he was kind, gentle, loving and generous. He’d help anyone he saw that needed help. He was always encouraging, always seem to know what to say or do in a situation. He loved to watch movies; he could sit for hours watching movie after movie after movie, right along with his can of beer and snacks.
He will be greatly missed by loved ones and friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by: his parents, Mollie Mae Carpenter and Lionel Charles Carpenter; brother, William Marcus Carpenter; his best friend and cousin, James Lee “Skip” Dunlap who recently passed.
Ronald leaves to cherish his memory: his life partner, Teri Rogers; sons, Ronald A. Carpenter, Jr. (Tamara), Andre’ Carpenter (D’wan), Devan Rogers (Karolyn) and Demond “Derek” Carpenter; his one and only daughter, Rhonda Carpenter; his baby sister, Patrice Carpenter. He also leaves five grandsons, 8 granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
