Ronald Eugene Buchanan Obituary

Ronald Eugene Buchanan, a beloved father, cherished partner, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the age of 80. His journey began on April 9, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was born to his loving parents, J.B. Buchanan and Sarah Buchanan (Calhoun). A proud graduate of Lincoln Heights High School, Class of 1963, Ronald embarked on a life journey that left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

Ronald shared nearly five decades of profound love with his long-time partner, Nell Green, who preceded him in death after 48 beautiful years together. Throughout his fulfilling life, Ronald exemplified the art of finding joy in life's simple pleasures. Weekends were dedicated to his favorite pursuits – peaceful fishing trips with friends and family, lively casino adventures full of laughter and excitement, and most importantly, sharing quality time with his loved ones. Ronald was also delighted in attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, whether it was football, soccer, or basketball. He was a constant and enthusiastic supporter, always cheering from the sidelines, and his pride for his family shone brightly at every game. A gifted storyteller, Ronald loved making people laugh, often sharing tales that brought joy to others, whether they were new or well-loved stories he’d already told many times. His stories and laughter were a hallmark of his warm personality.

He leaves behind a rich family legacy with his loving children: Veronica "Ronnie" Pope (Maurice), Lori Ballew (Ronald), Joann Russell, Donnell "Mickey" Green, Rhonda Gibbs, and Carlita Earl (Darryl). Ronald’s family continued to flourish with 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and extended family members who will miss his presence in their lives. He has now joined Nell, sister Emma Jean, his beloved son Kevon Armstrong, and grandson Jason Reynolds in eternal rest.

Ronald will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and the special way he made everyone feel welcome. Though he has left this earthly life, his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the family he so lovingly nurtured. His warm smile, kind heart, and loving presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
