Shari Lynn Nelson was born September 2, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Phillip Nelson, Jr. and Irma Nelson. Shari was the oldest of three children.
Shari’s formal education was through Cincinnati Public School. She graduated from Withrow High School in 1974. After graduating, she attended Miami University of Ohio. She later obtained a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Business.
Shari joined New Hope Baptist Church at an early age, under the late Rev. J.M. Stephen. After relocating to Dallas, Texas, Shari joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
She knew at an early age her calling was fashion. She started out in high school modeling and sewing. As an adult, Shari had a long history working in Retail Management & Merchandising from Cincinnati to Lexington, to Atlanta, ending in Dallas where she retired from Macy’s in 2016. Shari loved customer service and believed everyone deserved good customer service.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Phillip Nelson, Jr. and sister-in-law, Pam Nelson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Irma Nelson; two brothers, Kevin (Cheryl) Nelson and Keefe Nelson; niece, Candice Jackson; two nephews, Quincy Nelson and Korey Jackson; special friends from Texas, Phyllis Collins, Carolyn Jones, Althea Johnson, Vickie King-Pippin and Deborah Cooper; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
