Sherelle McCrary Obituary

Sherelle R. McCrary, affectionately known as "Boo,” “Suga Slim,” and “Shug,” was born in Middletown, Ohio, on July 17, 1976, to Richard “Redd” and Ernestine “Steen” McCrary.  She peacefully transitioned from this life to eternal rest on November 5, 2024, at the age of 48.

Sherelle attended Middletown City Schools. She was a basketball player during her middle school years and cheerleader for the Middies High School football and basketball teams.  She really enjoyed displaying her school spirit! Sherelle was a member of Sojourner Truth #13 Girls Assembly. She also took piano lessons for a couple of years.

Sherelle received Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Second Baptist Church in Middletown, Ohio. She was a member of the Youth Usher Board, and the youngest member of the Mass Choir.

She will always be remembered for her support of small black owned businesses, never posting a picture without giving her support, by recognizing the name of the business she was “wearing!!!" That was just her way of making sure the “networking,” was yet working!

Blessed with many trades, Sherelle was employed as a Property Manager at the company, Equity. She also ran, not one, but two small businesses of her own - Pure Bliss Travel Agency and Simply Tax and Notary Services!  She loved to cook, shop, travel, and she loved her sports.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ernestine McCrary, maternal grandfather, James S. Stewart, Sr., paternal uncle, Cohen McCrary, cousins, Gwendolyn E. Harvey and Michael O. Stewart, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Alexis Wright, Kaycee Wright (Trey), Kyon McCrary-Wills, Ashli Wills, Kelli Baker and Ammon "RJ" Baker; her grandchildren, Maddisyn Davis, Brynlee Jones, Ezekiel “Zeke” McCrary-Wills, Rori Houston, and My’KhiWright; the Love of her Life, Quincy SL Hightower and special daughter, Quincie Hightower.

She had a special place in her heart for the Hightower Family for all their love and support.

She also leaves behind her biggest cheerleader, her maternal grandmother, Lillie Stewart; her loving and devoted sister, Michelle (Anthony), older sisters, Kai El’Zabar, Chicago, IL, Candy McCrary, Trotwood, OH, brother, Ricardo McCrary of the Philippines, special sisters, Stephanie (Matthew) Thomas, Middletown, Sabrina Hightower, Atlanta, GA, and special brother, Stephen (Aris) Hightower, Middletown, OH; nieces, Brittny Johnson, TiffainiSmith, Keneka Smith, Deandra Robinson, all of Middletown, OH, nephews, Kenneth Smith II (Lyndsay), Virginia Beach, VA, and Tyrese Robinson, Middletown, OH.
