Steve Jones, Sr.

Steven James Jones, Sr. was born January 12, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Carrie Jester and Lavelle (aka “Bo”) Hunter.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, under Pastor Newton Mayes.

At an early age, Steve took interest in playing the guitar and perfected his craft throughout his years. He loved to listen to his P-funk and old school music.

He graduated from Hughes High School in 1977. He worked for Owens Illinois, until disabled.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mamie Dixion; mother, Carrie (Curtis) Jester; father, Lavelle (aka “Bo”) Hunter; his fawned niece, Tyaira Jackson and nephew, Dahari Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory: companion, Carlotte Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio; bonus mother, Harriet (Cookie) Hunter of Cincinnati, Ohio; children, Shameka McKee of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and Steven James Jones, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Steven James Jones III and Amiyah Sanders of Cincinnati, Ohio, Shamiyah and KeZiyah Mckee of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; bonus grandchildren, Rodney Jr., JaRod and Nala of Cincinnati, Ohio; maternal siblings, Vincent Jester, Lena (Darryle) McDonald, Marquita Jester and Winona (Wink-a-dink) Jester, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; fraternal siblings, Debbie, Donnie, Tracy, Butch, Lamont, Shawn and Gary Hunter, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; god aunt, Sharon Jasper; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
