Vanessa M. Moore

Vanessa Marie Moore, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on April 5, 1959, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Walter Lee Moore, Sr. and Althenia N. Moore, she was the youngest of four children. She accepted Christ as a child and was baptized at the Zion Hope Baptist Church.

Vanessa was a proud graduate of Hughes High School (1977) and attended Kentucky State University and the University of Kentucky, where she studied chemical engineering. She dedicated many years to the United States Postal Service, serving in various roles, the last being a well-loved and greatly appreciated supervisor. She was scheduled to retire on October 31, 2024.

She was known for her infectious love of music. She often attended concerts across the nation with friends and family. Her favorite artists included Trombone Shorty, Joe, Boney James, Brian Culbertson, and Usher. Vanessa also cherished spending time with her great nieces and nephews, showing them love and sharing gifts, especially during the holidays. Vanessa loved her fur baby, Gracie, and often traveled around town visiting family and friends with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald R. Moore. Vanessa is survived by her older brother, Walter L. Moore, Jr. (Jackie), her older sister, Linda M. Littlejohn, and a host of loving relatives and friends. 

Vanessa will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
