Willa Dean Vinson “aka Penny Riley”

Willa Dean Vinson was born on June 4, 1960 in Middletown, Ohio to Hoyt and Overa Riley. Penny as she was affectionately  called was educated through Middletown City Schools and a graduate of Middletown High School Class of 1979. In high school she was a member of Junior Achievement and  the Pep Club, and on the Volleyball team at the Middletown Community Center. She enjoyed skating at Skateway and Roller Haven on Sunday nights as well as the Friday night football games with her friends. She spent a large portion of her life in service to others by providing various degrees of care, from babysitting many in the community to providing long term care to those in nursing homes, her love was felt by many. She was a proud member of the Exhalel club and enjoyed gathering with family and friends. She brought joy to those around her and loved being a historian to her immediate family. 

Penny was called home on September 4, 2024. She was preceded in death by her father Hoyt Riley, mother Overa Riley, sister Sheila Riley, and brother Willie Marvin Hart. She leaves to cherish her memory two loving children Netitia “PJ” Riley of Middletown, OH and Roderick “Rocky” Riley of Springboro, OH, two sisters Marquette Riley of Atlanta, GA and Rae Jean Riley of Middletown, OH, three brothers Hoyt, Donald and David Riley of Middletown, grandchildren Teriyana Johnson, Tyiquarius Stallworth,  Aniya Johnson, Roderick Riley Jr, and Rochelle Riley, Great Grandchildren a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
