William C. Berry, Jr. (Boots) was born on June 10, 1936 in Cincinnati Ohio, the fifth child of the late William C. Berry, Sr. and Josephine (Phelps) Berry. He departed his earthly life on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
William was a member of The Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3655 Harvey Avenue.
William graduated from Stowe Jr. High and from there attended Old Woodward High School (then located on Sycamore). William served his country by joining the Army in 1964 and was honorably discharged in October of 1966.
William held a Third Class Stationary Engineer license from the State of Ohio Department of Commerce, and was employed for over 30 years at Cincinnati Public Schools until he retired.
William was a great singer, was very talented and could draw anything. He loved working with his hands building, remodeling and working in his yard.
William was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Edward, Roosevelt, Charles and one sister, Wanda Berry.
William leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Lucille Berry; one sister, Johnnie (Peggy) Bradshaw (William Mike Bullard); stepchildren, Donnie Johnson, Sr. (Kim), Karen King, Jeffery, Gerald and Chanda Johnson; his grandson, Chino Watts; his driving buddy and niece, Elaine Davis; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
