William “Sonny” Mack was born on February 9, 1945 in Winder, Georgia and later moved to Middletown, Ohio with his parents, the late Clifford “Willie” Mack and Gladys Idelle Mack.
Sonny attended and graduated high school in Middletown and later joined the United States Marine Corp where he served his country and did two tours in Vietnam. He lived in Brooklyn, New York for a short period of time and worked for the New York City Police Department before moving back to Middletown and working as a guard at Lebanon Correctional Institute.
Sonny was a handyman that specialized in plumbing, painting and a number of other skilled trades. No one could tell him they could out fish him. A professional fisherman, he definitely was. His love for the sport was undeniable.
William “Sonny” Mack was preceded in death by his father and mother; his son, Billy “Hill” Mack; and his stepson, Jerome Smith.
Sonny leaves his memories to always be cherished by: his brother and sister, Michael Mack and Patricia Mack; his daughters, Genayee Richards and Teri Mack; his son, Gerald Mack; stepsons, Victor Rhem of Illinois and Ricardo Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Brittany Hill, Ahzariah Cummings, Juan Cummings, Jr., Jalen Cummings, Kylen McGill, Keniya Flowers, Raven Orr Mack and Amir Orr; great-grandchildren, Andrew “Pabu” Garfias and Kellen Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends, including one special friend, Mary Aldridge.
