Winaferd Prince, born to the late Joseph and Christine Prince, February 5, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio departed this earthly life for eternal rest on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Winnie, as she was affectionately known by those who knew and loved her was educated in the Cincinnati Public Schoolssystem. She attended Washburn Elementary, Bloom Junior High and graduated, with honors, from Robert A. Taft High School in 1969. She was also a part of the Upward Bound Program, which prepared students to attend college.
Winnie accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at an early age.
Winnie briefly attended college until she started her family with Kelvin Jewell. From this union two children were born, Kelvin L. Prince and Crystal R. Prince.
She was employed with the City of Cincinnati, Publix Super Markets and eventually retired from Kroger.
Winnie loved to read and to be challenged! She often played cards, dominoes and completed puzzles with up to 1,000 pieces. Her friends at Booth Residence enjoyed her company and often relied on her knowledge of those games. She also became tech-savvy by learning how to navigate through on-line games and using Facetime.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mabel Williams and her brothers, Christopher and Calvin.
Winnie leaves to cherish her memories, her children: son Kelvin, daughter Crystal; brothers, Reginald (Jennifer)Mangham, Rodney (Fannie) Prince and Carl (Rosemary) Prince; grandchildren, Kelvin, Charles, KyAnna, Dominick, Jah’marrand Kierra; ten great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Christy C. Thompson. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Her presence will be greatly missed.
