Zenia Thomas was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 31, 1964 to his parents, Queen E. Thomas and Carl White. Zenia weighted 4lbs at birth and was given the nickname “Tiny”.
She attended Spalding Elementary School for children with special needs in Chicago. She resided most of her life in extended care facilities.
She loved to paint and sold some of her paintings. Zenia was the oldest daughter of four brothers and sisters, Rodney Thomas of Chicago, Michael Thomas deceased, Bernice Thomas and Charlon Thomas.
The doctors told the family Zenia would never walk nor communicate verbally, but God chose to differ. She loved to watch movies and participate in games and acti-vities in the Bella Terra Nursing Facility. She loved to tease the nurses and other caretakers, especially Melina and Danny.
Zenia has transitioned to a better place without any limitations, physically or mentally. She is Jesus’ child now; free from earthly disabilities. We will miss her smiles, smart mouth, but will forever keep her in our hearts. She is home now.
She leaves to mourn: her mother, Queen E. Thomas; Aunt Gennie; two sisters and one brother; nephews, Laroy Smith and John Smith; cousins, special friends, Melina, Danny and Nursing Staff and Bella Terra Nursing Home. The family wishes to thank all those who loved on Zenia and cared for her.
